OUR PASTOR

Samuel Owens Sr. was called to be the pastor of Westside Baptist Church on October 27, 2021. Samuel succeeded his father Pastor David Owens Sr. who faithfully pastored the church for thirteen years before the LORD took him to Heaven.

Pastor Samuel Owens Sr. was raised in a preacher’s home. At eleven years of age, he was saved. Later, at the age of twelve, he surrendered his life to full-time Christian service. By the time he was seventeen years of age, he knew the Lord wanted him to serve on the mission field. After graduating from high school, he went to Bible College where he graduated. He later served as the Assistant Pastor at Westside Baptist Church.

Pastor Samuel Owens Sr. became a Missionary in 2013, and served faithfully in the Republic of Georgia until taking the pastorate at Westside Baptist Church. God used Him to lead people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to start the Independent Baptist Church of Tbilisi. ​

Pastor Samuel Owens Sr. has been happily married to his wife, Carla, since 2012. Who has faithfully served the Lord alongside her Husband.  They have six daughters and one son.
